What IS Greg up to these days?

Am very anxious to see new posts in this particular group. I know there's an interview with Greg in my as-yet-unarrived February Magic magazine, so I suppose I should wait until that arrives before I get impatient.

All kinds of stuff -seems to fill each day beyond the 24hr limit
Thanks for asking Chet!
A few months ago a call came into Dad and Mom's office, looking for a magician that could produce a bunny from a hat! So Dad turned it over to me, and I had many detailed talks with this person. Turns out, she is a recognized international visual multi-media artist named Diana Thater. The conditions were quite strict... it had to be performed without revealing the secret so it could be shot from 360 degrees, an estimated 40 times. I asked her to give me a day to think about it. I called my magic friends, thought, did some book research, and finally said, "Yes, I can do it." We agreed on a fee and a date and we were off and running! The result is now showing in the Santa Monica Museum of Art, and is written up in the Feb issue of Magic Magazine. Wayne Kawamoto also did an interview with Diana, and posted it on his site, magic.about.com.
I learned from Dad that when he shot his own TV shows, or even when consulting on other TV shows, he always brought a Magic Technical Advisor, so I was fortunate enough to have Johnny Ace Palmer as my personal Consultant. He made it so easy for me on the day of the shoot, and the whole thing when smooth as glass. I will probably write up a more detailed article about this project soon, with photos from behind the scenes and more.
Another thing I did during 2009 was produce some very special stage shows in Japan. We performed at some very cool places, like the Billboard Live club in Tokyo (normally only for Jazz music), and the Royal Wing Cruise ship in Yokohama. I brought a great group of artists with me for the shows, Goldfinger and Dove, Rob Zabrecky, Chris Mitchell, Andrew Goldenhersh, Johnny Ace Palmer, Ken Shepski (Broadway singer), Emilie Livingston (Canadian Rythmic Gymnastics Olympic Star), 2 other dancers, my lovely wife Ayako, and an incredible director/producer Doug Johnson (of E Plus Productions). These shows were never really covered by the magic media, which is a shame, because everyone worked so hard and deserves the recognition. I will probably need to write more about that later too...
Then I spent a few months working in Dad and Mom's office and warehouse cleaning, organizing, and sorting magic and publicity and stuff. Wow, that was a big job, and still is not really finished. Some of the folk that have come by to see it have been amazed. One person that has written about it is Paul Gross in his weekly blog. More on this too, later...
Then... Yes there is more... I started to redesign the website for the Magic University. Months of time with Mark R. our Webmaster, researching, and designing, and figuring out how we are going to do all of what Mark Wilson envisions and include the other cool features that I and Mark R. feel are important for the users like yourself (this Forum for example).
Then... I was back off to Japan for another show in December, and back to LA for the Holidays and more work.
The stories go on and on, but that is the basic moments of what I have been up to.
If you have any questions or want me to elaborate on any of these adventures, please let me know, and I will be happy to fill you in with stories and images!
Everyone worked so hard, and I could not have done all of this stuff without the help of my good friends and family. I am so fortunate to have such good friends, and I hope that they enjoyed it as much as I did!
Now we are into 2010, and just about done with the first month. Time flies by so fast!!!! I hope you all have a busy, healthy and prosperous year this new decade.
Well, it's time to feed the bunny. Gotta run.
Best Magical Wishes,
Greg
Now THIS is the sort of post
Now THIS is the sort of post for which I could only have hoped!
Since reading about the "bunny from hat - 360," I've been pondering how one could do that with cameras completely surrounding a person. Now I know that we magicians are rather blase about "pulling a rabbit from a hat" (Except when Bullwinkle does it!) but our audiences just can't get enough of it! Now, add the challenge of fooling the camera (An unforgiving machine!) and THEN consider 360 degrees of cameras -- Yow!
At this point, it's become a real magician fooler as well as an audience pleaser. Non-magicians may never appreciate how much more difficult this must be, but we certainly do. And we're glad we don't have that sort of burning on us! You are to be applauded. Me? I'm utterly astonished!
And a big "THANK YOU!" from all of us historians now and in the future, for all your work in cataloging and warehousing what is a HUGE chapter in 20th century magic. That must be an immense project!
How DO you find the time to continue a successful performing career? (I have heard great things about your show - Japanese audiences are not shy about their love for your magic. (Yes, I have friends in Japan.)
